Session Notes

We awaken to birdsong. Mac has the last watch and is stretching as he waits for us to wake up. We smell bacon, sausage and some kind of stew cooking

5 days after prince rowan has fallen into slumber

We pack up and head towards Might

About 2 miles past Narthers, we come across the Rim Road, the wall that guards the entry towards Axle has a gate called Logate. There are pairs of mounted guards on the road and guard towers along the wall.

10-12 miles down road, there are a lot less halflings

Perception Check: A, G, and E don’t really see anything, Mac sees and animal in a shrub, Moss hears 2 voices whispering, arguing quietly

Hear a girl shriek from the bush and someone running out of the bush yelling “wasps!”, larger figure comes out of the bush whisper yelling “Uma!”

Larger person is suspicious of us and notices that A and Moss are elven, takes off her cowl revealing she’s half-elven and introduces herself as Henelin. They’re headed to White Branch, A mentions she’s from there and tells Henelin that she’s a follower of the goddess. Henelin relaxes immediately. Uma has pinkish, sunburnt looking skin and horns, Tiefling

From Mount Moondrop, headed to white branch, waylaid in Might. Started with three people. They were arrested in Might. Asked if I had a vision on the full moon. Matrons of the order fell to their knees screaming and had a vision of a red moon hanging over a burning forest blood falling from the sky choking the forest. Tasked to head to sites of power within the order, White Branch and the Lake. were accompanied by Mornethel, a matron of the order. They were stopped in Might by the Duke’s men. Asked if something happened to the Prince.

Mornethel is in the dungeon below the keep. E and Moss do perception checks, Henelin isn’t trying to trick them at all. Moss can tell that Uma is devil cursed and is being brave about having been detained.

Moss CHA saving throw 17, is able to read her mind for a moment. Reads in her eyes, she’s had a tough life and it will only be more difficult. Raised in an order of priestesses in the middle of nowhere, she knows little of the outside world. “These are the first good people we’ve run into in days and they can help us. They’re strong, there’s so many of them. No, we are priestesses, we will follow her will and prevail.”

6 riders come up in full plate armor, 4 wearing white tabards with a red sigil of the sun. Inverse of the royal sigil.

HISTORY CHECK : E is used to the royal seal so is confused

Mac: a little more used to it because of his traveling, knows as the new order of knights and serve the church as opposed to individual lords

A - more experience with the Order of Bright FIre, relatively new order of knights. Paladins in rite of the Dawnfather, separated from clergy are tasked with carrying out will of the church and dawnfather at their discretion

1 priest in robes, last rider is very gaunt man, buzzed ginger hair wearing a roughspun shirt, they don’t acknowledge until the ginger makes eye contact with Mac and E. Edwin Hilger, son of the steward of Beacon was a knight that was friends with Mac and E’s mentors. Last they saw Edwin was before he was disgraced in Boggard.

Edwin and E hug, he stinks. Looks really bad, wearing a hairshirt, horse doesn’t have a saddle. Mac knows he’s undergoing a trial of some sort.

Edwin was a squire to Ser Orrin Fox, oldest son of Ser Brayon, friend to Ser Norman and E’s mentor Ser Edmund Warrington. Suddenly stopped seeing him in tourneys 5 years ago. Conspired against ser Orrin with Ser Roger Corlin. Accused of intentionally leaving the armour loose in a melee duel between Ser Orrin and Ser Roger. Ser Orrin still won. Ser Roger denied any involvement and placed all blame on Edwin

Lead knight tells Edwin to get back on his horse, they’re headed to Crestin and cannot delay. There’s someone on the back of his horse bound with a bag over his head. A 19 perception, this figure isn’t wearing robes that match the priestesses we just talked to . Wearing breeches, is a woman.

Edwin says they’re headed to Crestin to wake up the prince. What’s befallen the prince is a curse, who knows more about curses than a witch. This one was aiding and abetting enemies of the state in Might. Wants us to come with. Will “stand his vigil” become a knight in service to the dawnfather.

Henelin comes out of the woods to talk before we part. I tell her that we will do what we can to help Mornethel get out and meet them on the road. Tell her “we will not forgot and will see her in white branch”

Come across the town of Glennatch, make our way to the Barracks and Mess Inn

G tries to be sneaky and take notes about Moss to see what happened with her eyes. Wakes up Moss and Emmeline, who tries to brush it off as normal. Moss waits for everyone to go back to sleep and stands over G for like 10 minutes

We awake the next morning to thunder, first non-nice day since we started the adventure. Road is muddy but not unpassable. Would be more difficult if we had a cart or horses.

Come across town of Amek, smaller than Logate, less of a guard presence. The primflow is flooding the road a bit, becomes a bit of a large pond. We successfully ford the pond.

We all get eaten by bugs, no ill effects other than annoyance. We make it to Might in the early evening. Castle where Duke Brocken Magnor lives. Can see the different districts of the town, quiet in the dreary weather. We come across a line of guards wearing the sigil of the family of Magnor. They make no effort to stop us seeing that we have a knight and a couple armoured people.

HISTORY CHECK : city that is at the forefront of a wide expanse of rather untamed land. Humans came into Hollisen by this road but the surrounding land isn’t great for farming or livestock. Early ancestors settled further west. Stands as a bulwark against visitors of the east or bandits/miscreants. Has developed guard and authority robustly in response. The name Might came from the fact it was the main mill of soldiers that would join the army of Hollisen. City of Might - we see an unusually visible lower class. Mac and Moss are used to it being more rigid in terms of dealing with problems in the town. More guards at the walls as opposed to policing inside.

We walk into an inn to find a place to sleep. People are enjoying themselves on a saturday night. There is a halfling fiddle player. The innkeeper is observing the crowd as we approach.

Innkeeper Kenway serves us ale and stew, flirts with A. Mac, E, G and Moss all dance while A eats her stew.

Mac knows the halfling traditional dances and is cutting a rug. Has 2 women following and dancing with him on the dancefloor

E is adept in moving her body if she doesn’t know the dance. Still is getting in the groove

Moss doesn’t know this dance but is just VIBING

G immediately trips and falls into the 2nd largest guy in the room. 6’2” broad shouldered blacksmith that’s twirling a woman around. Pushes his wife out of the way and is suddenly this guys dance partner. Mac comes to G’s rescue and intimidates this guy to stop messing with G

A approaches the wife, Qitha, at the bar and gets a free drink. The blacksmith comes up and urges Qitha to leave. I mention going to his shop tomorrow and Qitha is excited.

Mac is buying drinks for the women he was dancing with.

Table of dwarves are playing a dice game are boisterous. Mac approaches to play dice with the winner, the women Bec & Ouve follow him over.
