Ser Nadon is shaking Emmeline awake and she sees Ayana convulsing next to her. Pulls out a healing kit to stabilize A
The tavern is burning down - We set it on fire during the fight
The cellar door is locked or blocked closed, Kini (person E was kissing) is trying to rouse a dead man, seems that E was making out with the ENEMY, dead man is the father of Kini’s child
E gets the door open with my bladed maul and hauls me out
Sees other guards unconscious outside along with halflings that were attending Punder’s show helping the townsfolk try to stem the blaze
Ser Nadon carries G out
E goes back to help Thresh and a guard carry Mac out. E and Thresh run in to grab the last living Grey shirt
We get brought to the Cottoneye Inn. The fire is fought through the night but largely burns itself out.
Ayana - has a vision, sees herself as a child, right when she met her adoptive family. The only light is moonlight above, I’m in a pit? It’s coming through a skylight? I see a sapling fixed to a rock and drinking from a pool beneath. It disappears along with the moon. All i see are red stars in the sky, 2 golden lights appear. I feel heat from behind me, laughter, cruel, wicked, small. I see a shadow in front of a fire blazing hot, the shadow has horns - antlers like a stag. I hear cackling from the shadow. I turn and am on a road lined with fire, theres a figure made of fire, trapped in a lantern on a long staff held by a cloaked figure.
I wake to moss’s bed unmade but her stuff isnt anywhere to be seen
Mac - wakes face down in a pillow in a bed too small for him. Has a hard time breathing and falls out of bed
G stretches like a cute baby and falls out of his hammock onto Mac
G and Mac hear angry people downstairs. Group of travelers, nobody in grey shirts,
A comes down and has a conversation with Mac about what happened the night before. I learn he lit the fire and he learns that I broke into the cellar.
G goes to find E and knocks on her door. E is dreaming that it’s Rowan that comes into her room. She’s 10, he’s 13. She thinks she dreamed everything about him dying and not being able to save him. He assures her that shes okay and asks if shes excited for the hunt today. They are both looking forward to it. He pulls out an amulet that he found while out in the city. Has the moon carved into it and says something about love in Elvish. They have to head out to the hunt, lets go! She’s suddenly in the Cottoneye Inn and G is pulling on her door and yelling to wake her up.
I make peppermint tea for everyone to help clear their lungs. And tell them that Moss is gone. So are all her things.
Thresh walks in. Tells us that a few grey shirts were captured by the guards including Kini. E tries to pay for her meal and notices she’s been robbed.
We finish our meals and head to the guard tower. A guard out front, Bedin, asks if we’re alright. Tells us he was knocked out by a grey shirt. He leads us into the tower and I lay on hands for one hit point.
We head up the tower to meet Ser Nadon in his office. He thanks us for our heroics and says he thinks it could’ve ended differently if we weren’t there. He was sitting with Lt. Perch playing cards and trying to catch him admitting to something. Some Grey shirts came in and asked for aid in the basement. Ser Nadon grabbed Perch but he got away. Has Emmeline’s stolen items in the basement. Kini is under arrest.
Thanks us for ridding their town of this “Sickness”. Did he find out what they were doing in town? Probably using it to train ne’er do wells. Tells us we’re welcome in Oglet at any time, and anything we need will be at no charge to us.
We tell him we’re doing more research into how we can help the prince. He grabs a parchment and rolls it up with his seal and tells us to use it when we come across any guard or captain of guard if we need passage or information.
G and A follow E to the basement to get her belongings. Has her money and an emerald ring that doesn’t belong to her.
Kini lashes out and blames “you rich Crestinites” for stealing food from the people of Hollisen. A is curious about the Orc that’s down there tells me to call him “Krunk” and says he’s in there for being too rowdy with his drink.
Mac tells Ser Nadon that Ser Norman was struck down by goblins. Ser Nadon says there have been rumblings of halflings forced from their homes. Could be related to these goblins.
We go back to the Cottoneye Inn to grab out things. Mac offers to take a look at the foundation of the Pigtail Tavern as a stonemason to make sure it’s safe.
A looks around to try to find a note or clue to where Moss went. 18 investigate check I find her beret. I leave a note with the Innkeeper to give Moss “We have continued on our quest to Might. We hope you join us soon and that you are alright. - A”
We head off toward Hillock.
